Didn’t have good enough signal last night to publish a post before the email got sent, so in case you missed it go to https://chadbikes.to/bt-700/day-2-to-port-elgin/
We all agree that today was pretty much a perfect day on a bike. We had tons of variety terrain wise, from flowy singletrack to crappy rec trail to fast pavement to a short but gorgeous hike a bike, perfect weather (partially cloudy, 20 degrees or so), beautiful views of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, and an ice cream finish in Owen Sound.
I often write these posts around the events and specifically photos of the day, but tonight I’m just going to dump a gallery full of pictures right here. the day was simply too long and varied to try to explain with words. So here you go.

And a couple videos
Tomorrow will be interesting. Long story short, Michael recently had an incident with a bad that requires him to get a series of rabies shots. He was scheduled to get his next round next month day after we are back, but today got a panicked call from public health that he needs them ASAP. So he need to go to the hospital here in Owen Sound tomorrow. Gary and I need to figure out something to do here while we wait. It’s not the nicest town in the world, but I’m sure we will figure something out.

Sorry to hear about Michael. The day looked like a lot of ups, downs, puddles, etc. etc. Beautiful scenery minus the snake. What kind was it? The only picture missing was the ice cream. I’m sure you consumed it immediately and didn’t mess with a photo! Hope you can get a decent amount of riding in today. Stay safe.
Little garter snake. The puddle part was fun but not representative of the day overall. First ice cream on day 3 is crazy.
Looks like a true beauty! Maybe it was worth the bucket list after all?
Someone has to tell that Gary character that this is BIKEpacking, not BACKpacking though!
So far the route is so much nicer and easier than I expected. It’s going to get a fair bit spicier nowish though.
Bikepacking is totally about creative ways to carry sugar.
Oh, msn, that burrito or wrap or whatever looks stupendous!
Souvlaki. It was excellent!
