Trails, trails, trails. Ontario isn’t Quebec for sure, but this part of the province has more rideable trails than I realized.
This morning I rode about 30 km on side roads to Stittsville where I got on the Trans Canada – Ottawa trail. I also stopped at a nice coffee shop and got breakfast and a cappuccino.

Rode that for 25 km and then got on the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail for about 8. Some side road riding for a while until I stopped for ice cream in Perth. I also was running low on stove fuel so pumped $.41 of unleaded into my bottle 🤣

Then more Trans Canada trail for most of the rest of the way to this park. The further along I got today the more beautiful things became. I think I am leaving farm country and entering cottage country. Lots of lakes and bogs and bits of Canadian Shield. Much better riding.

Tomorrow things will cool off several degrees and there may be some rain. I’m ok with that. Will be 95% Trans Canada trail tomorrow, hopefully good riding parts. My experience with it is pretty hit and miss, but I’m hopeful.

Sounds like another fantastic day. Beautiful country, easy riding, good food and ice cream not to mention the apple blossom. Looks like you’ve broken in your bike well. It will need a good tuneup when you get home. Safe travels tomorrow. Hugs, Ma
Better not need a tune up but I do have a small list of things to investigate
Maybe I needed to say a good cleaning!
💯
This ride has been heavy on the nature, I love it. Now that you mention Perth I know exactly where you are, I could come pick you up if you like 🙂 You’ll come back to a rainy TO, a little muggy and rainy.
I’m off to get the ticker tape and tuba for your welcome home tomorrow. You’re almost there, enjoy your last couple of days! I know you are tremendously.
I would like to be invited to the tuba and ticker tape parade, thank you!
Same, please!
Two tuba players!!
Who else would play the tuba?
Chad – there are “special weather statements” all along the way between your location and Toronto today (Saturday), and I don’t thing they mean “Oh, this sunshine and light breezes sure feel special!”
I hope you brought your sleeves!
Oh joy. “Hazards: Local rainfall amounts of 40 to 80 mm. Rainfall rates of up to 40 mm in an hour.” 3 pm today for where I’m at. Think dry thoughts for me.
